Social Media Disclaimer
The comments posted on the County's social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.) may be moderated. All comments posted by Public Users must be limited to the topic originally posted. The County does not discriminate on the basis of viewpoints or opinions expressed. Public Users may NOT post comments containing prohibited content. Comments from Public Users containing the following prohibited categories of content will be removed:
- Content beyond the scope of the original topic posted by the County
- Content that uses profanity or obscene language
- Duplicate or repetitive content that is either from the same Public User or otherwise appears to be duplicative
- Content promoting personal profit, including commercial solicitation or conducting or pursuing personal business interests
- Content endorsing, or appearing to endorse, commercial products, services, or companies
- Content endorsing any person campaigning for election to a political office or promoting or opposing any ballot measure or proposition
- Content in violation of intellectual property laws, including but not limited to posting licensed material without authorization, or posting copyrighted material without the publisher’s permission
- Content disseminating hoaxes, chain letters, or advertisements
- Content containing sexually oriented messages or images
- Content containing links to malware and/or malicious content
- Content that engages in or encourages illegal activity
- Content containing information that may compromise the safety or security of the public or public infrastructure, including but not limited to public IT systems
- Content containing personally identifiable information, such as phone numbers or addresses
Content posted on County's social media sites will in no way constitute a legal or official notice to the County or any official or employee/affiliate of the County for any purpose, and no one should utilize the County’s social media sites to seek emergency services. The County recognizes that social media tools are available 24 hours a day. However, given the need to manage resources, the comments may be generally moderated only during normal business hours, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Comments posted outside of normal business hours may be read and appropriate action may be taken within the next business day or as soon as possible. The County does not guarantee it will respond to comments or messages sent on County social media sites.
